YOUR FLIGHT AND ARRIVAL When arriving from any destination outside of Mexico, you will be given two forms aboard your flight: *TIP: Carry a pen on your person. Airlines do not provide them and rummaging through your baggage for one can be an infuriating task. 1) Customs Form โ this is the first document you will need to show at customs. It has two parts to the document. Donโt forget to complete the top section AND the bottom section. When you enter Mexico, they will retain the top section and give you the small bottom section. SAVE THIS PIECE OF PAPER because you will need it upon your departure from Mexico. 2) Immigration Form โ you will need to collect your luggage, then as you exit, you will be asked for this form. You will hand the form to the agent, then you will be asked to press a button indicating if you will be required to go through extra search. If the light is Green you can pass through. If it is Red, they will have you step to the side and search your luggage. Once you clear customs and immigration, proceed to the front of the airport. Be aware that in doing so you will have to run a gauntlet of โtime share salesmenโ and assorted others offering to help and wanting to answer all your questions. Look straight ahead and keep walking! The airport is undergoing expansion and renovation, so just follow the flow, as directed. Donโt stop for folks offering taxis until you are outside the terminal doors, as these are likely to be timeshare sales people. From here you have a few options, private car service is available for slightly more than a taxi but needs to be arranged beforehand with our concierge at ronnie@jggrouppv.com be sure to state that you are staying at 1242 at Sunscape for a preferred rate. Uber is now throughout Vallarta and it is recommend over taxis but, you may have to walk a bit as they are not allowed inside the airport. Taxis will be waiting outside where you can purchase ground transportation to Sunscape Resort for about $20 USD per couple. Inform the driver you are going to Sunscape Resort in Zona Hoteles, you will be there in a few minutes. Avenida Francisco Medina Ascencio km 3.5. CHECK IN (After 3 PM) *BRACELET USE IS MANDATORY! IT MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHILE ON RESORT GROUNDS. NOT IN A POCKET OR PURSE. IF FOUND WiTHOUT A BRACELET GUESTS WILL BE FINED $150 USD PER PERSON AND BE BARRED FROM ACCESSING ALL RESORT FACILITIES!! Once at Sunscape Resort proceed to the check-in counter and tell them you have reservations for Condo 1242. They will be expecting you. At this time you will be given a bracelet to wear. This bracelet must be kept on throughout the duration of your trip and returned to the front desk at checkout, not in a pocket or purse. Failure to do so or removal of the bracelet during your stay will result in a resort issued fine of up to $80 USD per night. Should you have any problems the desk to contact condominium administration, as they will be apprised of your arrival. Access to the pool / beach and the surrounding areas through the glass doors near the reception. This is accessed with an RFID card that was delivered at the time of registration. Without it, you will not be able to access these areas. At the end of your stay, be sure to return the card along with your wristbands and the access card to the reception. Failure to do so will result in fones, starting at $ 250 USD that will apply to your damage deposit.NOTE: ONLY the guests listed on your reservation will be allowed to check in. ALL INCLUSIVE DAY PASS This is a courtesy extended by Sunscape to our guests. DO NOT consume food or beverage from resort restaurants or bars without paying for all inclusive for that day. This is theft and will be handled as such up to and/or including charges for the entire day of all inclusive at the full, undiscounted rate, criminal charges brought by the resort and the Puerto Vallarta or Federal police department, and eviction from the property with no refund of rent or damage deposit. Additionally this will result in all inclusive to be revoked as a privilege for all future guests which we be a direct result of these actions. Avoiding what could be a very bad situation is easy: If you care to use the restaurants and bars, you will need to purchase all inclusive per person per day. The all inclusive may be purchased any day or days you like. These can be purchased at the hotel front desk. You will be given an all inclusive bracelet for the day chosen. At day's end you will return to the desk and they will re-issue a standard bracelet. It is also a good idea to keep your receipt with you, just in case. You can eat, drink and be merry the entire day, as much, and as often as you would like! Please inquire for current rates. Please do not take hotel serviceware, plateware, glasses up to the condo. Leave these items at the closest resort restaurant, bar or with a staff member before returning upstairs. Multiple recommendations for dining within steps of the resort are located in the home guest guidebook as well. I always suggest that as you are in Vallarta, get out and explore! There are over 350 restaurants in Vallarta proper. You will never run out of things to try. POOL TOWELS *Please do not hang towels, laundry , etc. over the balcony this is prohibited by Sunscape and the HOA.You will be issued a towel card per person at the start of your stay. To get a towel you will turn in the card and will receive the card back when the towel is turned in. These cards must be returned to the front desk at the end of your stay or you will be charged $20 USD for each card not returned, Pool towels are issued at the towel bar at the end of the hotel wing facing the Pacific. When no longer using them that day, please return to the pool kiosk, and your card will be returned to you. **Do not take towels to the condominium, beach or off resort property or you may incur a fine. Pool towels are to be shared amongst all guests and are not the property of the condo or condominium guests. If you should need towels for the beach or elsewhere during your trip you will need to provide your own. ****In order to help prevent guests of the hotel and condominiums from โreservingโ loungers for the entire day, hotel staff may periodically remove towels from loungers that have been unattended for 30 minutes or more. This is not an exact science so if you plan to vacate your loungers briefly it is best to have a member of your group or your neighbor stay with them so as not to lose your towels while you are away. Please be respectful and if you plan to vacate your loungers for more than 45 minutes, empty your lounger so others may use it. This policy is to allow all guests to be able to enjoy the pool and beach areas. FURNISHINGS Please use care with upholstered and wood furnishings. DO NOT place damp clothing or towels onto furnishings to dry. The drying rack in the bath closet or the shower must be used for this purpose. Due to our climate, damp laundry placed on furnishing will cause upholstery to mildew and wood to peel in less than 24 hours. Also, please do not apply sunscreens or oils while seated on upholstered or wood furnishings and avoid doing so after a fresh application without a towel , etc. covering. Suntan oils, etc. will cause permanent, damage to these items. If damage is noted to furnishings you may be charged up to and including the full replacement cost of the damaged piece. Please use the drying rack or shower for drying and use a towel, etc to cover furniture when using oil based products. SAFE To set your own code, with the safe door open, pressthe star key twice. The word PROG should show. At this point enter 68# and the screen will read ;โNEWโ. /enter a 4-8 digit code you will remember and press the โ#โ symbol and it will then read โDoineโ To lock the safe , close the door and press theโ #โkey. To open using your code code followed by pressing โ#โ If at any point the screen says โerrorโ on more than one occasion or it reads โbatt lowโ let us know so we can replace batteries, etc. In the event that the batteries are dead and the LED indicator shows RED at any input, please replace the batteries inside the door and let me know so I can reimburse you for the cost. But DO NOT lock the safe in this state! It can be overridden, but is easier to replace the batteries beforehand .This is usually done by us but just in case it occurs during your stay, you can perform this yourself without having to wait. ***At the end of your stay, please ensure the safe is left open, unlocked and with the bolts extended to ready it for the following guests and prevent accidental lockout before the next guests set a personal code. AIR CONDITIONING Please turn off the dehumidifier in the bedroom upon your arrival. It is for use when vacant and will work against the air conditioning. A/C settings should be as follows: Fan=AUTO. Mode=A/C. Temperature:=Your preference.The center button on the left is an on/off switch should you desire to turn it off at night. If you care to have the patio doors open, shut down the A/C system as it may cause the coils to freeze and damaging condensation to form on fabrics, furniture, and near the vents. During periods of rain or high humidity leaving doors open for any period of time when the home is already cool wil cause humidity to condense almost instantly on surfaces, floors, and fabrics. Gradually allow the interior air to acclimate to the exterior temperature/humidity to prevent this. The patio doors have been equipped with UV and heat reflective coatings but it is also a good idea to draw the shades during late afternoon sun (approximately 1-4) to keep the home cooler. INTERNET/WIFI The 1242 Pacific network is: INFINITUM5451. The login code is: oKT5Cwz2Nh. This information is also on the modem in the bedroom. TELEPHONE If you need services that are not provided with your personal cell phone, please check with the front desk, and they can direct you to an outside line. If someone wishes to call you direct they must dial: 011 52 322 226 1700 and ask for room #1242. The phone in the bedroom is an interphone for dialling hotel services, Dial โ0โ to connect to the operator and they will direct you to the correct person. Intra resort codes: Front Desk: 1760 Bellhop: 1757 Room with 4 digits: Room # Room with three digits: 2+ Room EMERGENCY MEDICAL/ POLICE/ FIRE : 911 ALSO DIAL THE FRONT DESK (0) TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING. TELEVISION Both televisions are connected to Sunscape Resort cable. movies and news, in English, can always be found with a little searching of the menu. You will find a full menu guide in the 1242 information packet. The bedroom television remote is used for turning the power on and off, the remainder of the controls are on the secondary, smaller remote such as volume, channel, etc.. Be advised that both the cable box and television must be on in order to receive channels on this television and the television set to HDMI1 as input. APPLIANCES The countertop oven should be large enough to accommodate almost any needs you might have, it also includes a rotisserie if you should so desire, which parts are located in the bottom cabinets left of the refrigerator. The convection oven becomes quite hot while in use. Please DO NOT place anything on top of or next to the oven. This will create a major fire hazard and most certainly damage whatever may be placed there. If there were to be anything that ignites in the oven, there is a fire extinguisher in the cabinet under the sink. Please clean all appliances after each use as it reduces any pests that might find them attractive, and particularly with the stove, eliminates buildup. There are instructions for all appliances in the floor cabinets to the left of the refrigerator. 1242 Pacific is equipped with a whole home surge suppressor so all of your electronics are protected in the event of power fluctuation or storms. Additionally, USB wall power ports are provided in both the bedroom, living room, and desk area to conveniently charge your devices. DISHES Ensure that all dishes are cleaned and returned to the appropriate storage area prior to your departure. This is not a general function of the check out cleaning service, and may result ian additional charge. BEACH GEAR In the condo you will find beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and to go tumblers, etc. We provide these, as I wish for my guests not to have to jockey for a position on a chair, or for an umbrella on the beach, as can be the case. Feel free to take these with you to the pool, beach, Los Muertos, Blue Chairs, whatever your beach destination of choice might be, if it is not the beach right at your doorstep of the resort. Also, you will notice during the whale season, schools of whales travelling relatively close to the shore, for which you can grab the in-condo binoculars and see them up close. I would suggest having them tuned to your eyesight before you need them. We only request that the beach equipment be returned as free of sand and as dry as possible (you can put it out on the balcony, or in the shower to achieve this, if needed). WATER AND ICE Contrary to popular belief , the tap water here is clean, safe and highly rated by the World Health Organization. This is for Puerto Vallarta only and would refrain from drinking tap in other areas of Mexico. You can use it for drinking and ice and avoid spending on bottled water. GARBAGE Puerto Vallarta is a tropical environment, so wet garbage can attract ants. Please remove your garbage as needed and deposit it in the trash cans located by the service elevators. These are just outside the condo door to your right. DO NOT place trash outside the door, on the balcony, or near the passenger elevators. New trash can liners can normally be found in the drawers below the cooktop, or simply use the bags from the grocery for trash. Recycling is not in practice in much of the city thus far, including at the resort. You may dispose of all unwanted items in the same bin by the service elevators. LAUNDRY OPTIONS There is a coin laundry next door to the right as you exit the resort grounds. It is run by Rosalita, she is there every day except for Wednesdays. She will launder , dry and fold for 50 pesos for each wash load and 50 pesos for each dryer load. It is a nice idea to tip her about 20 per load as well. You will need to purchase tokens for the machines and provide the detergent, which you can buy at the little store at Villas del Palmar shops. It is street facing, in front of the Villas del Palmar. You may also consider taking your laundry to the lavanderia at Plaza Caracol, in the same shopping centre as Sorianna. You can have it washed, dried, and folded for around 18 pesos per kilo, laundry supplies are provided. Please check below the bath sink there is often detergent there, and it is for your use. On site laundry service is also available although a more expensive option than those above. Enquire at the front desk for more information. GROCERIES/TOILETRIES/SUNDRIES Initial supplies of paper towel, toilet paper, and facial tissue are provided. Personal bath products i.e. bath soap, shampoos and replenishment of the above paper supplies are a discretionary purchase of the guest. You will likely need to purchase something during your stay, whether it be additional paper towels, a bottle of wine , bread, supplies for a seven course meal, or anything else. You are close to two retailers that sell most necessities. Walmart is to the left of the hotel entrance, and Soriana to the right. Soriana is approximately a 5-8 minute walk to the right of the drive and Walmart about 15 to the left. Additionally, there are shops within the resort promenade that also carry staples in a pinch. Anything present in cabinets, cupboards, etc, is for your use. We only request that if you deplete an item, trash bags, plastic wrap, coffee, etc. that you purchase a replacement so the same is available for the guests that follow you. It is asked only as a courtesy and know that it is greatly appreciated. CURRENCY/CREDIT CARDS/ATMS Generally, many places in Vallarta will accept USD, but it is not mandatory that they do. In addition, it is unlikely that you will receive the current exchange except at local banks. To exchange for pesos, I recommend any bank throughout the city. You will be required to provide a copy of your passport that they will keep as required by law, so if you plan on exchanging often, bring a number of copies. My advice is to operate in pesos while here so you know exactly how much to pay. Bring a bit down with you and exchange at the airport, then use your debit or credit card and withdraw a sum of cash that should last a bit, Take what you may need for the day and leave the rest in the room safe. ATMโs or โcajerosโ usually provides similar rates to exchanging here, and keep you from travelling with a wad of cash. Any bank operated ATM is fine. They are no more susceptible to con artists than the ATM across the street in your own hometown. Those inside a business rather than on the street usually are less attractive to criminal types. Do not be surprised if the bank puts a hold on your card after the first purchase or two, even if you notified them ahead of you trip. Donโt spend your last dime while out on the town before ensuring you can withdraw more currency in case you need to call the bank to get it reactivated. Credit cards are accepted at some places but not nearly as widely as in the US or Canada, so donโt assume it will be taken. I suggest taking one with you for big purchases or emergencies and leave the rest in the condo. Same goes for IDs. Leave passports in the condo, extra ID cards and cash. Just smart advice for travel anywhere. TIPPING Employees in Mexico earn disturbingly low wages, although you would not know it by the excellent service they usually provide. An average restaurant service person often earns 8 US dollars a day or less without tips, for example. In addition, those that reside in tourist areas face additional challenges of living in an area with a much higher cost of living than the country average, and often have little or no work for a number of months when low season arrives. Tipping is always up to you, but considering the following recommended tips amounts, it is mainly pocket change to us, but can double a worker'sโ earnings in a day. It takes a bit of time to feel comfortable dropping a $100 peso bill down for your server, but at current exchange rates, that is around 5 dollars US. Grocery Stores: The baggers at the end of the register (usually children or retirees) often earn no wage. I usually tip anywhere from a few pesos to 10 pesos, depending upon the amount I purchased Restaurant Wait Staff: Usually between 15 to 20% of the bill, more if you would like or receive exceptional service. All Inclusive restaurants: 20 pesos per person for buffets, 50 pesos per person for ala carte meals. Bartenders: 20 pesos per round or the same percentage as restaurant if there is a tab Bellhops/Luggage handlers: 20 pesos per bag Housekeepers/Maids: 50-100 pesos per cleaning Tour guides: If on a tour of 20 persons or more, 60-80 pesos per person. Smaller groups should leave 15-20% of the total cost of the tour Taxis: Generally drivers are not tipped unless they provide exceptional service or carry your bags, etc. SMOKING There is absolutely no smoking in the condo, including on the balcony, as it filters into other units. Smoking is allowed in many of the outdoor areas of the hotel though. CHECK OUT PROCEDURES (By 11 AM) Check out is required by 11 AM unless we have previously arranged a later time. Please ensure dishes are washed,and stovetop and oven are cleaned as these are not a part of housekeeping duties and may incur an additional charge. All towels may be placed in a pile on the bath floor for laundering. Remove all garbage as trash will attract ants and pests. Please leave the safe open with the bolts extended. Close all doors and turn out the lights if possible. Be certain the door locks behind you upon final exit. Sweeping and mopping are not necessary, however, please leave the property in a reasonably clean state, heavy cleaning needed to be done will incur charges to your damage deposit. Remember to return your bracelet and any pool towel cards to the front desk to avoid a charge! DAMAGE/REPAIRS/ASSISTANCE In the event of damage and repairs needed or assistance required, please email Richardsons at relax@rpmagc.com. ONLY in the case of emergencies that threaten health, safety, or property, phone at 044-322-128-3430 during their business hours of 10 AM- 7 PM Monday - Friday with any issues or concerns that are pressing. Please keep contact outside of these hours to emergencies only that pose a direct threat to health, safety or property. Email is primary as they are often in locations where the phone cannot be heard. If you call and they do not answer, leave a message. They will not return calls that do not have a voice message associated with the call. In both voice and email messages, be sure to leave: 1. A detailed description of why you are calling 2. Your name, and 3. The name or suite number of the property you are referencing. Simply stating your first name and that you need assistance is not enough and will add a significant amount to the response time received while they determine what property you are in and at what priority level your concern needs to be placed. If a situation is causing immediate damage, (i.e. broken water pipes), or is posing an immediate danger to yourself or the property,, please contact the front desk or administrator to address the problem, and kindly inform us as soon as possible. SUGGESTIONS/IDEAS Please let us know if you have any suggestions/ideas or tips. Some of your experience here at 1242 Pacific has been from suggestions of previous guests. If you have any issues during your stay, please email us so we may correct them during your trip, if possible. This is much more helpful and effective than having a problem your entire stay and leaving a negative review from home. Donโt forget to sign our guest registry! All Guests must: Confirmed phone number, email address, payment information, and agreement to House Rules. All food and beverage served at the resort are ONLY for guests that have paid for the daily all inclusive package. This fee is NOT part of your rental and is paid for at the resort front desk. Any food or beverage consumed without paying first for the days' all inclusive package , will be considered and treated as theft up to payment of the all inclusive at full cost, expulsion without refund of rent or damage deposit and criminal charges. Bracelets issued at check in MUST be worn in your wrist at all times when on resort grounds. Failing to do so will result in $100 plus fines and expulsion from the resort. Uber and taxi service to and from the property are easy, and economical. If you desire to drive multiple international rental agencies are stationed at or near the airport. I personally believe that driving in PV is a waste of time and effort. Uber/taxis are safe, efficient and very inexpensive. So why deal with the hassle. But if you care to drive, I can provide you with VERY simple driving instructions.

Not enough good things to say about John and his place! First of all John is always making sure everything goes right on your stay and very responsive! His place is lovely and has a great view of the pool, ocean and city. All the amenities we needed and more! This is my second time booking with John and couldnโt be more pleased!

My family and I had an incredible experience in the reservation of the condo, John attended us excellent, he supported us a lot, his attention at all times. The condo was so comfortable you felt like home, contemplating all the comforts of the interior and access to the resort! Totally recommended!!
